Why are dental implants better than bridge work?

Because your Dental Implant simply CANNOT decay, the way the teeth under a bridge can. With an implant, the adjacent healthy teeth do NOT have to be grounded down for crowns to support the bridge. Its a snap to clean around the implant with dental floss. Not so with a bridge. And if any of the supporting teeth making up the bridge gets decayed, the entire bridge usually has to be replaced.

Again, avoid having a dentist grind down the healthy teeth on either side of your space for that bridge. Instead, fill in the space with a dental implant. They will be longer-lasting than that bridge and easier to clean. Best of all, they significantly reduce the chance of future gum disease! Also, your implant can’t break down and fail due to decay, the way dental bridgework can.

What are MINI – Implants?

Mini-implants are small metal abutments that when comfortably placed in the jaw, can have your denture snap into place over them (see pictures below). The denture wearer doesn’t have as much acrylic or bulk in his or her mouth to worry about, they are much more durable-fitting than using adhesives (which you can say good-bye to!) and generally are far more comfortable than regular dentures. Although used more for a lower jaw denture, mini-implants are used for upper and lower dentures to stabilize them.
