SonicFill™ is a breakthrough in restorative dentistry.  The tooth-colored, filling material is electronically mixed and then ejected from a specially-designed dental handpiece.  Not only is the tooth filled in 1/3rd of the time, but the bond is stronger and longer-lasting than restoring the tooth the usual, old way.  Computerized and advanced!

This bonding material, ordinarily semi-solid, is made to actually flow by a tiny ultrasonic wire that keeps it in a liquid form. The fact that it is in a liquid state allows the material to flow into and adhere to hard to fill places, and creates a tighter adhesion to the tooth structure. This reduces future breakdown and allows for less sensitivity in the ensuing days, not to mention allowing for a far longer-lasting white bonded  filling.

When Dr. Reifman removes all the decay from your tooth with a laser-thin micro burr (no anesthetic is even needed!), he takes the portable sonic-fill handpiece which gently and easily pushes the bonding filler material into the prepared tooth. The liquidy bonded material now actually starts to harden. A special light beam continues the hardening process.

How does the liquid to solid bonding material happen so incredibly quickly? Think of a large earthquake that liquifies the solid earth around it. That’s the beauty of the sonic-fill, for it can take an otherwise solid and strong bonding material, and convert it to a liquid form for a few moments. When the filling is done, Dr. Reifman turns off the special handpiece, and the material actually starts to HARDEN on its own!

AND THE RESULT? Your new, tooth-colored filling seals the tooth a heck of a lot better, reducing post-operative sensitivity so common with bonded fillings. A sonic-filled bonded filling will last years longer! The aesthetics are better, with a more natural-looking light-reflectance, also.
